My husband read this somewhere and we did it...B"H!
Photocopy the fronts and backs of all cards in your wallet. Keep them in a SAFE place at home.
That way, if you ch'v lose it, you have all the info in one place to call and cancel your cards.
PS I lost my wallet last week. Guy spent thousands on my cards. B"H for the photocopy so that when I realized I could call all the places a.s.a.p. Don't worry, we're working everything out. what a pain!
better advice...don't lose your wallet!

I can't remember which company it was but one of our CC companies used to call us fairly often when there was much activity on the card or large purchuses were being made, to verify that it was legit.

Did you figure out if it was stolen or lost and where it happened, either way?

yeah, usually they'll call you if there are charges uncharacteristic of you.
My bank actually did call. Surprisingly, Amex didn't catch it by the time I did.
I'm not sure if it fell out of my pocket or someone just stole it. I think it happened on Ave M
