My kids are going to be on winter vacation the entire chanuka, and I'm going to be due right after chanuka so we can't go on any trips and I don't want to plan anything TOO elaborate just-in-case. Our budget for chanuka presents/activities is also very limited this year. We live OOT so just going to "Amazing Savings" isn't an option. We have done other trips recently so my kids shouldn't feel TOO deprived, but trying to think of things to do b/c my husband will be home working so don't want to drive him crazy either. Kids are 9,7,4 and 2. They have never been ice skating and I'm not really in a position to teach them.

You mentioned ice skating.
My kids taught themselves, most places have bars to learn with. I was not involved, just watching, and taking pictures  . They all LOVE it. Ages 4-13.

I had a baby on chanuka! How exciting!
You can make latkes ahead and freeze to be reheated in the oven.(if you have a baby early at least you won't need to make that!)
Cookies decorating, we do it every year! I have edible markers, we use chanuka cookie cutters!
Games, if parents play with the kids, they are much more ready to play and it's so much fun!
Charades or something similar where thry have to prepare an act is a lot of fun.
The public library is amazing. Sit on a comfortable armchair and read to them! Older kids can play on the computers.
Some libraries have arts and craft projects, find out!
