I'm familiar with the big black book called Mourning in Halacha. I'm looking for something similar, that has halachos of aveilus, but more contemporary. Please advise. TIA

What exactly do you mean by more contemporary? I remember referring to that book when I was sitting shiva, and during the year. It didn't strike me as out of date.

We used, well I don't remember what it was called but it was by Rabbi Saul Wagshal. It wasn't too long but it covered everything it needed to. And I know it might not be newest but the halochos are still the same.

While halacha doesn't change, at times there are new applications of the halacha based on current lifestyles and trends. Additionally, I'm learning that in mourning there is very little halacha and mostly minhag. So I'd prefer a shorter, more current, easier read.
