Have you bought permanent bags to carry your groceries?

Starting March 1, 2020 - groceries are banned from giving you shopping bags.

Thanks, Democrats. Rolling Eyes

Banned or charging? In Israel they have been charging a tiny amount for over a year for disposable. You can purchase more long term use bags. We often do

I believe groceries can sell Paper bags for 5 cents, but cannot sell disposable shopping bags.

But how can one carry multiple paper bags?

One needs to buy sturdy bags with handles and take it when one goes shopping.

Most people drive to market. Need to carry groceries to car and then again into the house.

A lot of places will start selling reusable bags for those that didn't bring their own.
I have a pack in my Amazon cart but waiting to see how things play out. I still have a stash of plastic bags for now (we have always kept a basket full for taking lunch to work, bringing things to friends, etc - our way of recycling).

I wonder if she means what we used to call a bubby cart Smile. Like a tall basket on two wheels. Totally transportable.

The ban has been going on where I live for years. It's not hard once you get used to it.

I use these bags; they stuff into their own small pocket and hold a lot. I keep a few in my car, shove them into a purse or pocket when going into a store.

You would still need to bag your groceries or they could fall out of the spaces. And to carry
the groceries into the house.

What about the plastic produce bags?
Will they be available in the supermarkets, or are they also banned?

There is no ban on paper bags. They can sell those to you, or give those to you.

The are however, required to have on hand for sale reusable bags.

I think those are allowed. For now.

But first they came for the shopping bags and nobody protested....

I'm frightened.
