This will be over eventually. I'd postpone anything not urgent ie vaccines can cause fevers, I wouldn't want to add that to the prevailing confusion, checking milestones can wait, etc.
I've seen doctors overlook sickness (a child had been treated for Lyme two weeks before, came for a "thorough" well visit, everything wonderful except a tutor noticed that the child's head was still twisted and he needed more antibiotics) while very busy with the chart so if you suspect sickness, schedule a regular visit and don't think they'll catch it during the well visit.

I would take, unless the Dr.s office said not to. Mine screens for symptoms before you enter the office. And I wouldn't be comfortable going what will probably be a minimum of two months without taking my newborn to the Dr. What if there is a problem you don't realize, and it goes untreated and gets worse? I had my boy for his 1 month checkup last week, and the Dr. said that if things get crazy, someone might call and tell me not to come in for the 2 month appointment and if so, I shouldn't worry - just stay home.

My pediatrician said not to bring the baby for a checkup unless we come first thing in the morning. B"H she is a month old and is getting quite fat, so I am not bringing her.

Oh, also this. I made the FIRST appointment, 8:45, and it was B"H very empty. But I think it depends on you, and your baby, and you Dr.s office.
