I'm looking for a different filter. I currently use GenTech but I find it really annoying when sites are blocked unnecessarily and then I have to request access. I'd rather just be able to change settings myself without having to go through someone else to do it. I'm pretty minimal as far as what I'm trying to filter - explicit material (obviously), and excessive skin showing, that kind of stuff. Does anyone know a good filter that is easier to control what's blocked and what isn't?

We use opendns and it seems okay. You can set your own settings, what sort of things you're filtering etc. You can also add specific websites not to block. If it's ads you have a problem with, try using mozilla firefox with ad blocker added.
