Kidding, it's not my favorite but it's one of the few things I still remember from 3rd grade.

I was going to go with Jabberwock, but really, Shel Silverstein is my favorite. The one that always stuck (no pun intended) was Peanut Butter Sandwich. I thought it was ridiculous in the best way, and so child-like . Now, I get it in a different way, and it's sadder. But still great.

I remember being so proud of myself for reading the WHOLE thing, as it was the longest poem in the book!

Omg. In third/fourth grade we had to memorize a poem. I don't do that one. I don't remember what I did. My friends did that one and I still remember

"The Duck" by Ogden Nash is short and sweet. Anything by Ogden Nash is usually pretty good.
"I'm Nobody" by Emily Dickinson.
How about Lewis Carroll? He's always good for some healthily silly nonsense.

I love Robert Frost. I can recite Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening and The Road Less Traveled (I know the latter is deeper, but I like the former more).
