Ordered a project from Diamond Art at the recommendation of a poster here. I didn’t realize you could order online and ordered straight from the company. It took forever to arrive from China (2 months) but it arrived and it’s pretty awesome. I have a few questions:
1. What’s better for placing the pieces? The tweezer or the open ended took?
2. Is there a better way to flip the pieces over? They live to be with the flat side up!!
3. If I keep areas covered that we aren’t working on will it really stay sticky for the month it’s going to take us to complete the picture?
4. What type of frame do you use when done or what do you do with picture?
5. What does the pink wax do? I stuck the tool in it but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference.
6. I did one color tonight with my kids. Is that the best way? Complete a color and then move on?
YES I read the directions but they weren’t too helpful. Thanks!!

My son is working on his second diamond art project. I can ask him all these questions tomorrow if you want to bump it up to remind me.

If you pour the beads into the tray and shake gently they turn up correctly.
I never found the pink stuff made much difference.
There is a tool with a longer slot which I found useful to put down 3-4 beads at a time (in an area with many beads of the same color). Mine didn't come with tweezers.

Just wondering which site you ordered from. Asking, because I ordered some for my sister about 3 weeks ago. Never got a shipping confirmation, they never answered my calls and didn’t reply to emails either. My sister disputed the charge on her cc but I’m wondering if it’s the same site
ETA- I personally find the tweezers harder to work with. Also I’m wondering how you’re working by color- the plastic sticks back afterwards? I was told to do one part at a time.

I’m in the middle of making one, will try to answer your questions:
1- I like the piece that u can put the sticky pink thing on and it will stick to pieces. I find that my pieces fall off the tweezer.
2- a diff poster said, put it on the tray and shake slightly.
3-if you keep areas covered, it should stay sticky.
4- previous one I did we framed, with a glass over it. Not sure exactly what kind of frame it was.
5- I find the pink wax helpful. To put some on the end of the stick and it helps with getting the pieces on. My stick comes with 2 sides, one that you can put 3 pieces at one time, for large areas of same color.
6- I usually start with an area and move on, (if it’s a large area of same color) not finishing a whole color since I don’t want to uncover my whole art and then maybe the plastic won’t cover it so well.

Hope this helps, enjoy!

OP here, Wow I guess I am not the only one who likes! The website I ordered from was called Paint with diamonds. I tried to contact them numerous times to no avail. I completely forgot about it until it showed up in my mailbox today. Thanks for all the great advice.

Our family made a big beautiful one, and I had it framed and hung it in my living room. I love looking at it since we all worked on it together (at least, everyone pitched in at some point). Some preferred tweezers and others liked the stick with glue. We put each color onto a labelled plate and worked from there. We like to do it section by section, and cut the plastic smaller as we finish each part.

I order from Amazon. There are different brands. I received one recently that it much better quality and looks so pretty too. I’m still in the middle of it.
We take turns in our family. Everyone likes working on it.

We put the pink tack in the round tool and it is much easier to grab pieces.
Blue sticky tack works even better
We don’t bother with the tray and rarelybuse the tweezers.
Buy the 2 oz dip containers and empty the beads into there and label each one. Keep open the colors you need as you work.
Work on an area not a color.
Keep the sticky area covered when not working on it.
Start on the top so as you work your arm doesn’t rub against what you already did.
Every so often apply pressure to the area you did to seal the beads.

Which brand is it that’s better quality?

Lots of good suggestions here. We also ordered from Amazon and got it in a few days.
Definitely work on section rather than color.
How do you all work without the tray? We only use the tray. You pour out a little bit and gently shake side to side and most of the beads land right side up. When you finish using the ones that are right side up you gently shake it again and more turn right side up. Very simple.
We use the pen. You need to dig it into the red wax. The tip of the pen is a little hollow. The red wax goes into it and that helps grab the bread for easy placement.

I get them for much cheaper from ali express but it takes at least a month to get it.

Even my 5 yr old does it slowly and I love doing it as I relax at night.

Only peel a little area at a time as you work on it

Lesson I learnt the hard way, if you are buying a detailed picture, you will need a bigger size for it to be clear.
(Think pixelated photo)

Anyone has done any jewish designs?
