I was hoping to get a nice sized above ground pool this summer. Especially since I have no idea of there will end up being day camp, I need a way to keep my kids entertained.

I figured I'd spend about $500-600 and get a pool that's at least 4 feet deep and 12 feet wide. At least that's what it used to cost.....

For some reason, this summer, they're completely unavailable. I've looked all over the place and at all the major brands, and the doesn't seem to be any in the entire US or Canada for sale.

So now I need to put something in my backyard to entertain kids from teens down to little ones. We recently moved, and we now have plenty of space in the backyard. I thought of a water slide, but they're really expensive.

Ideas????????

Would you get a 3 foot pool to get you through the summer?

Trampoline, inflatable water slide (we got one on Amazon for under $200), basketball hoop, soccer goals, croquet, swingset, zipline, batting cage, gokarts, cornhole, sandbox - any of those speak to you?

Water guns (not a fan of that terminology) and water balloons? Spinning sprinklers? Depending how young your little ones are, water table.

Stock tank pool? Google it. They're pretty cool of you can find one. It's really hard to find anything that can replace a pool. It's just a different kind of summer experience.

Water slides are also really short supply this summer. Kohl’s has one this year sometimes for about $380 - past years it was under $300. And it sells out fast.

There are a few deals finders who keep posting pools since they are in such demand. Follow them on watsap and check out right away. Pools and trampolines are in huge demand due to Covid.

If you buy a filter and a tarp you can make your own frame out of pallets - ma not last you more then the summer, but it would be cheaper then other options.

If you aren't handy find out if someone has handy teens who would do it for minimal payment...

I've been monitoring pool availability at Target. Unfortunately, this brand (Sun Squad) seems to get really bad reviews, so I've held off from buying. If someone does buy, please let us know your experience, but please read the reviews first to know what you're getting.

I keep seeing people posting on the local fb mom groups that they're selling pools that they bought online and no longer need. Maybe look on there? I think a lot of people bought them and then when they found out daycamps can open in NJ and that they do require some maintenance, changed their minds.

What's your budget? They've gone up in price significantly relative to last year..

I haven't thought about a budget yet. Is it available somewhere? I have been looking and places seem to be out of stock.
I don't have a water supply outside so it needs to be inflatable, with a real seal cover, so I can chlorinate it and be on top of the PH level and keep the water for a bit.
