If accosted by someone whether in the context of "peaceful protests" or otherwise the following is recommended:
Do not engage.
Do not say anything.
Call 911.
If you are at home or somewhere possible go inside to a safe place.
If physically leaving is not possible then openly video the offending party with your phone while waiting for police to arrive. Do not engage, do not say anything.
Assume that anything you say or do can be used against you. Assume that everything is being videotaped/recorded.
Be proactive. Be safe. Be healthy.
