Cheese pretzel recipe please!

My boys are obsessed with the cheese pretzels that have been coming in the school lunch boxes. Does anyone have a recipe that mimics that greasy, cheesey, chewy goodness?

make a bagel dough
roll fat long strands
punch the strands flat
fill with shredded cheese
roll and pinch them closed
Form a pretzel shape
Dip in a mixture of hot water, a pinch of salt and baking soda
Brush with egg wash
Add topping if you wish
Bake

Sooooooo much better than store bought. You got me in the mood.
