Top common food triggers are tomato, tomato sauce, spicy foods, citrus, chocolate, peppermint, coffee, alcohol (including wine) so start by eliminating those. Maybe also dairy. Eliminate for at least two weeks then you can try to add them back in only one at a time only every 4 days to see if it's just one or two that are truly triggers, rather than all the foods. Or you may decide to just keep avoiding them all. Also don't drink beverages with meals much but rather between meals. No ice cold drinks. Chew food thoroughly and eat mindfully, not while running around. Google how to do heel drops for hiatal hernia in case that's related. If none of this helps, time to see an ND (licensed) for further investigation, testing, supplements if needed. Heartburn is very fixable!

Eat small meals and don't eat 3 hours before going to bed. Maybe sleep with 2 pillows.

Mine resolved when I stopped eating most carbs including fruit, grains, sweetener and starch. I used to take 80 mg nexium a day. Now, once in about four months, 1 pill. Surprised me big. Because no one had ever suggested that to me in my whole long history of gerd from when I was five. 3 plus years now.
