I voted the first option, but "no because I was raised not to" is true too.

I try not to but if my anxiety gets really bad and I need to ground myself/ distract from triggers then I sometimes listen to acappella.

No, because that's the halacha.

That's not the halacha for everyone. I know families who have the minhag that it's permissible to listen to music during the 3 weeks.

Everyone should ask their own rav.

You sure your not confusing music during the 3 weeks with music during Sefira? Bc during Sefira it's rather minhag, some pp listen and make wedding until rosh chodesh Iyur. Some pp after lag boemer are totally OK listening. . I'm 99% sure 3 weeks has more to do with halacha then minhag.

Yes I listen to recorded music, but not live. No option for that.

No, they are permitted to listen to music during the 3 weeks and they definitely said it was their minhag.

I didn’t vote, because none of those options fit. We officially don’t listen to music during the 3 weeks (& during s’fira) but were told ‘osei melacha’ (people doing ‘work’) are allowed to. That includes housework, cooking and even driving according to our Rav, if music helps you to do what you need to do. In practice that means we have music on almost as much as we usually would although we try to be careful to stop it when we take a break. We also hold that acopella is no different (especially the modern ones that use sounds other than pure voice). The one exception we make to that is our teenager that listens to music at bedtime (and, yes, I know some hold that is an issue as well). She listens to accopella at night during s’fira & the 3 weeks.

No, because it's halacha. (ETA: I just caught up on the thread and see I wasn't the first to say this. Great minds Wink)
True, it helps me remember the churban but it's halacha.
Now, there are different psakim. All 3 weeks? Just the 9 days? Special dispensation for emotional needs? While exercising? That's all fine, but the point is, we live with an awareness these 3 weeks that we as a people are reexperiencing this point in time and iyH may we not complete the 3 weeks the same way we have the last 2000 years...

ETA: Struggle is good. Win or lose, it makes a statement that the object of the struggle is important and worth the struggle.
Apropos to the aseres yemei teshuva, I heard a great thought: Someone goes on a diet and no way is he going to touch that last piece of dessert cake in the fridge. No sirree. It's an hour and he hasn't touched it. 2 hours. 3. And then he eats it. Is he a loser? Is he hopeless? No. For 3 hours he exercised his no muscles! They really are getting stronger. The next time he's faced with this struggle, he might hold out longer. Or just take a sliver. There are glorious possibilities once we start struggling.

Yes, this is for people in bidud, I.e. strict isolation quarantine, to keep up their spirits. As you said, individuals.
