hi! Very Happy
I'm going on a road trip.
What snacks/food do you pack to bring with you?
I'm trying to think of protein ideas so I won't be low energy.
I'm bringing meal mart meals for the nights and deli for sandwiches and cheese sticks
Any other ideas for snacks?
Preferably protein/healthy
Or road trip tips in general

we try to avoid sugar and white flour on road trips/easier on the stomach. Imake tuna patties in advance and freeze in single size portions. can do the same with grilled chicken.

tuna packets
sardines
edamame / soy nuts
string cheese
peel open cold cuts

grape tomatos
bananas
baby carrots
snap peas
canned pickles

peanuts
cashews
shelled pistachios

single size packets of rice cakes, crackers, pretzels, nut butters. fruits.

we take a cooler and try to book hotels with refrigerators. what ever doesnt fit in the fridge, we take lots of small garbage bags and fill with ice each night to create a fridge in the cooler. We freeze water bottles to use as ice packs and when they melt, we have cold water.

How many days is the trip? Will you be able to refrigerate items or does everything need to be shelf stable?

I just went shopping today for our trip. We are driving to a cabin. Probably will spent two days on the road. two days 3 night at the place. We plan on bringing a stove top, pan, grill top, waffle maker...
maybe some of things might help you. I know people who bring a disposable grill to make food in a park..

I bought lox, chumus, packets of tuna fish, deli, black beans, peanut butter to make peanut butter "balls", yogurt, nuts meat patties, hotdogs, cheese sticks will either bring eggs or buy there... ...
