I'm usually very skeptical but even I fell for the whole "original creation" scam. I didn't actually buy anything because I'm a strong fan of not spending more than 20 bucks on earrings, but wow.

OMG! I can't believe that I spent money on the earrings, I payed for the smallest ones... But she talks about being so special and different and straight and honest, and until now I actually trusted her... OMG. (btw I was a bit disappointed when the earrings arrived, but I thought it was a fluke or something. OMG. I can't.

I looked at these and it doesn't make sense. The reviews are from months before the Instagram release. There are also multiple sellers with the same designs -- factories in China rip each other off all the time, steal photos, ideas etc, so the likelihood that a small potatoes influencer designed something so impactful is very small.

I don't see how this is any different from stores sourcing cheap merchandise from China, and marking it up significantly to sell. She isn't scamming anyone with her jewelry, no one forced you to buy items that are clearly junk. She uses glitz and glam and really good marketing skills, and it apparently worked. Years ago she had a costume jewelry store in Lakewood, so she definitely knows the business.

I saw this giveaway and was a little taken aback that the cost to enter was $140 The typical Chinese auction has prizes for $5 $10 $18 max $50
$140 seems a little steep no matter the value of the prize. The whole thing seemed a little sketchy when she asked for the money to be sent to her husband and not the organization. I looked at the fine print and she wrote that a portion of the proceeds would be donated. A “portion” could be $18. A lot of people felt misled. She probably didn’t get enough money to cover the cost of the prize and therefore canceled the giveaway.
All that aside
She needs to return the money ASAP
Not sure why she needs to contact Venmo corporate
She can just refund each person one by one
However they paid that’s how she should refund them
No dilly dallying

This. Marketing as original handpicked designs is the problem. Not the buying cheap AliExpress merchandise and marking the price up.

Exactly. Must say I'm disappointed in her. I've stopped listening to her rants a long time ago as she was clearly aiming to create, build and hype a brand and I wasn't interested, but still respected her. I've lost all respect now. Can't believe it.
