Years later, I sat DH down and had him watch the movie, because their characters were also similar in behaviour in his single days. By 15 minutes in, he could no longer protest! |
Mine is actually pretty close to Moses lol. Same bewildered eyes and sharp cheekbones.

FYI, "[black person]" was the politically correct term in the 1950s and 60's. Before that, it was "colored." Martin Luther King, Jr. referred to himself as [black person]. Do they still have TV ads asking people to Give to the [black person] College Fund because a mind is a terrible thing to waste? The disrespectful term--not the outright hostile term so beloved of the KKK--was "black", until in the 1970s activists of African descent decided that black was beautiful and henceforth they were to be described as "black"--until later activists decided to style themselves Afro-American and, later still, African-American. Each generation renames itself. Give it another twenty years and there will be yet another term.
Interesting. The prissy imamother censor changed Negr0 to "black person." Apparently what MLK Jr. called himself, imamother considers a dirty word. "Negroes", in plural, goes through.

My Israeli, Satmar, shpitzel wearing friend has commented several times (in passing) on her husband's good looks. I bet you wouldn't think she's capable of this.
Also, this young man was probably collecting to help his parents marry off a sibling. I see it a lot, unfortunately. Sad, but I guess not as bad as collecting for yourself.

The annual meeting of non-profit organization fundraisers is called BY THE PARTICIPANTS "The Schnorrers Convention." As in "I went to the Schnorrer's Convention last year and this year promises to be even better." Just as the garment industry, whether it's making nylon underpants that costs $3 a gross or red-carpet evening gowns that cost as much as a fancy wedding, is called "the shmattah trade."

I don't think that's in imamother being prissy. Yael has mentioned in the past that google has issues with some words and issues complaints about sites that use them. She censors some of them just to avoid issues with Google. They are the ones being prissy, not imamother.

He was a tzedah collector.
He was collecting for his family in Israel.
I can’t help but think, if he wasn’t religious, he would have been the most successful model.
I can almost guarantee you, that his wife doesn’t even know how gorgeous he is. She’s never seen a computer.
He is living in poverty yet he could have been a model, an actor....
I don’t know, my heart went out for this kid. |
Models in Israel don't make big bucks.
Actors do but right now they are all out of work, it's one of the hardest-hit fields in the country.

it is a little absurd to say you think his beauty is a waste or his wife doesnt appreciate it. How would you know??? plus attraction doesn't require any sort of education, it is totally natural and part of being human
