I want to give a small token of appreciation to the person who took my mail all summer while I was away. Something cutesy, even a gag gift is fine. She took her mail at the same time, did it with pleasure... I just want to show appreciation in a cute way. We are pretty close so she will appreciate something cute

You could get a cute holder-like thing for mail and get it personalised.
I know Im not being clear, kind of like a place she can keep all the mail til it gets sorted out.
Someone once brought it for us, was very cute.
Or, an envelope opener, if they still sell it. Can get it engraved with her name..
