Does anyone here make their own coleslaw?
If so can I please have the recipe. If you dont have one do you know where I can find one( ie cook book website etc)

I just made a great cole slaw for Shabbat.
Mix of shredded red and green cabbage.
bean sprouts
pine nuts
oil and red wine vinegar
salt, pepper, a bit of sugar.

I make a delicious marinated cole slaw.
One bag cole slaw
1/2 purple onion
1 cup toasted slivered almonds
Dressing
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup vinegar
1/3 cup sugar or splenda
enjoy!!!

Spice & Sprit has a great one. Lets see if I know it by heart:
3/4 c mayo
1/4 lemon juice or vinegar
2 T sugar
4 T warm water
maybe salt & pepper - I can't remember
Hope that's the whole thing.

Too late for Shabbos, but I use the recipe from the Heimishe Kitchen:
1 head of cabbage, shredded
1 carrot, shredded
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 c. boiled water
1/3 c. vinegar
4 tablespoons mayonnaise

I love my cole slaw recipe!
(this shabbos I used the dole cole slaw with the added hechsher instead of bodek and I found that it tasted 100xs better... anyone know why?)
here goes:
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1Tbsp Vinegar
1/4 Cup Water
1 t salt
4 Heaping Tbsp Mayo

My recipe is similar.
mayo, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar.
But I find that you can cut down on the mayo and get a creamier consistency if you use a little soy milk as well.

two scallions
chow main noodles
handful of craisins
dressing:
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup vinigar
one tbs pepper
one tbs salt

my sister-in-law says a way to never fail making cole slaw is, equal parts mayo, sugar, and lemon juice. she only ever uses real mayo because she says the light one doesn't taste the same. I personally don't really see the difference. Of course, cabbage, shredded carrots, and maybe slivered peppers.
