I bought chair leg socks but they constantly fall. What do you use on the bottom of your chair legs to protect the floor from scratches besides a rug?

Go to the hardware store, and ask for the round felt circles with sticky tape on the bottom. They are super cheap, and your downstairs neighbors will love you forever.
If your chairs leave marks on the wall, put a couple on the backs of the chairs, too.

These really grip the legs. We wash them every few weeks. Buy the right size that is very snug for your chair legs. We check the socks after a meal to make sure they're secure.

The sticky felt circles are the best!

On the downside, if you have any dust or hair on the floor, the circles will pick them up and trap them. You'll have to pull the gunk off of them pretty often.
If you sponga your floors every day, and don't have any pets, you should be fine.

This. And always keep extras on hand in case one comes loose, which does happen over time.

They fall off just as often as the socks, but you don't realize because it's not as noticeable, and then scraaatch - you're left with nasty scratches on the floor.

Nope not mine. Some have stayed on for years! Maybe it’s the quality you’re buying or maybe it’s not gripping well to the material of your chairs.

The bottoms of the chairs have to be REALLY clean, as in not dusty at all. The tape needs to stick well. If you lightly sandpaper the bottoms and then wipe off with a dust cloth, I promise you the tape will stick for years.
A guaranteed method to keep them on forever, is to add a dab of Gorilla Glue to the sticky side before you attach it. No other glue will work as well, it has to be the Gorilla brand.

These are super tight. They lasted 6 months then I replaced them. |
This is what we use, I probably need to change them more often.

If one falls off I slip it back on again when I stand up from the chair.

They do make screw in ones. The furniture store I go to sells / installs them for you as an add on, so I haven’t done it myself, but I can’t imagine it’s that hard. These look similar to what we have:
40pcs Furniture Glide,Screw-on Felt Pad Slider Floor Protector for Wooden Leg Feet of Chair Table Sofa(Φ20mm or 0.8",Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J.....N8BZR
