Nah, I used to be a frequent outspoken poster here. But people had major attitude and were nasty to each other so I took a break. When I came back I decided maybe I won’t get so involved if I stick to posting anonymously.

LOL, reserved? Hardly, they are the loudest and harshest posters on here. They just post anon so they can make personal attacks.

And I'm posting anon, just for the irony of it. LOL

That is a big generlization.

I have a foot in both worlds and mostly post anon. What does that make me?

identifying yourself to other Chassidish women who may know who I am does make me feel uncomfortable. When I state my opinion on something, I use a screename. When I'm divulging information (even just the camp/chassidus/age) I use anonymous. Its very easy to figure out who people are. If the option of seeing all the posts of one person didn't exist, I'd probably post anonymously much less.

And I was feeling like it was heavily Modern orthodox. I'm just orthodox somewhere in the middle.

No, I mean it's more of a "thing" amongst the chassidish culture to be anonymous and private. It just is a thing. I'm familiar with the culture. That doesn't mean every chassidish woman is into that. Some are into it and some aren't, I imagine. Everyone does their thing their way. It's just something I observed in the chassidish culture. Not every chassidish person is into it though.

When I relate personal stories of myself or others, or if has identifying details.

When I post an unpopular opinion

When it's related to only chassidish & others won't understand & judge

Maybe when I talk about my shvigger lol so if she is on....

Maybe if I also want to be snarky once in a while...not only get attacked by snarky anon posters lol

Mostly I do go under my screen name

I love how there is only one type of yeshivesh.
Yeshivesh is the most generalized word in the (non) english dictionary.
I could never imagine so many of my ultra yeshivesh relatives on imamother.
perhaps that section should also be divided?

Me too. I’m a member for years and at some point stopped posting under my screen name much. Actually I Mostly stopped posting, and even took a long hiatus as I was quite turned off.
But in the beginning I most definitely did use my screen name.

which is strange because very few people use their real name as a sn anyway.
(Did you think my name is really Zenobia Zaqarias and my kids are Zev, Zehava, Zanvel, Zelda, Zalman, Zlata, Zorro, Zerubavel and ZsaZsa? Ha-ha you fool, "Zorro" is just a nickname. His real name is Marvin.)

Not my experience at all. Quite the opposite in fact.
