My friend has the name Susya. Everyone calls her Sassy. (not SAssy but Sussy.)
I think it comes from Susson? Makes sense, no?

The place in Israel is South of Hevron.
Sus (pronounced SOOS) is a horse.
If my "Hebrew" ears heard that name on a girl I would shock
