Yes. His entire series on Hasidic Jews is worth watching.

I just watched the whole thing and found it fascinating!
However, Malky Weingarten is definitely not your typical "chasidic" woman. At the same time,, I admire her and respect what she has done in her community and I think it's wonderful that she agreed to be part of this production.

She is not typical because she is an artist and a creative person. However, any chassidish woman is free to be like Malky and still be Chassidish. She is very right about community norms and Torah laws being almost equally important, but it’s only the latter that really matters. I think she did a nice job.

Malky is great!! I love her energy and her common sense.

I have so much to tell this guy. Things that weren't covered in this series.

Next time you see him walking with a chassidish woman you'll know who it is.

Make sure you sit while you wait. You might get a little tired.

Maybe I’ll offer to go next. I agree with every word malky said. I found some of her statements being so similar to what I always write hear. Especially the one where she feels so bad for hateful people!

Love Malky! I love her positive energy.

Anyone know why this Peter guy went into this whole thing? What brought him to the chassidish community?
(Anyone used subtitles? It says acidic community LOL )

Ha!
There was an article about him in the Ami. He loves to check out all types of cultures and do videos about them. Now he started with Hasidic Jews but he’s done many many more all over the world.

Nice. They’re very interesting to watch!

Sometimes I get on my soap box and throw in my two cents while I’m watching.... as if anyone could hear me!

I would venture to say most chasidish women willing to go on camera for youtube are not your average chasidish women. I'm not even chasidish and I don't think I would talk on camera, at least while I have kids in the house.

After my kids are grown up....I think I totally would.

I really enjoyed it too and I love Malky. If I may insert my unpopular opinion on one thing I disagreed with.

I was uncomfortable with her eagerness to defend the Muslim community. Yes their culture is into hospitality (serving guests nicely), but that doesn't contradict the idea that the women may be suppressed, or include extremists who want to kill us. Hopefully we do things under the guidelines of the Torah so we can believe what we're doing is right and not worry that we may be compared to other religions.

But I'll repeat, Malky is great and a baalas chesed - I witnessed her being very helpful to one of my friend.

He has a YouTube channel and goes all over the world and gets in depth with different people and communities and it's positive and fascinating to watch. Shloime Zionce reached out to him and asked if he'd be interested in learning about the hasidic community next.

It’s ironic that when we have all the chassidish women not driving threads on imamother, that you allude to women oppression being a Muslim thing (and not related to Chassidus at all).

She didn't defend them. She said she found herself making conclusions about them, the same way people rush to make conclusions about her community. She wants to be better than that.
