I have a Yaffa wig that hasn't been worn for at least 5 years. It wasn't crazy expensive when new (shorter precut) and I definitely wore it for a couple years. I am wanting to say I wore it for about 3-4 years.
It's been shoved in a plastic bag. The hair feels dry, particularly the ends. It has a thin spot on top, that is not too noticable. Color is passable without needing dye. At nape of neck, there is quite a bit of hair that has pulled through to the inside of the net. It needs new side clips.
While it looks quite a mess right now, I wonder if there is anything I can do to make her wearable again.... (I phased it out when I bought a new one that has since died). The cap/net is INSANELY comfortable, and I have great difficulty finding caps that don't bother me.
I feel like if I could get it "up and running" for about $150 or less it would be worth it. But is that a crazy low $$ expectation?
If I took it to Yaffa Wigs in Boro Park, would they charge through the roof or would they want to give it some life b/c it is one of theirs?
Would I do better to take it to just a regular sheitelmacher?
Or do I just give up on it and set that $150 aside to go toward a new wig?... eventually (would need to save for awhile)

Don't think $150 can do much besides fill in the bald spot/resew the clips. You can try a deep condition at home for the hair and see if it helps it not feel dry(caution: no conditioner on the roots/multidirectional top!!)
