Anyone have a baby in the summer when they are upstate?
I don't know anyone personally but on the other hand if you're due july/August would not make sense to stay home alone or cancel husband regular summer job.

Please share your experiences and where you gave birth if you did upstate! Thanks

Not me but a lady in the bungalow drove home to the city when labor started. Not a ride I'd want to do personally.

There are but levels of care are not as good as the city (so I hear).

Depending on where you’re located that can be an hour or two away.

I’d stay home.

Harris hospital is local but was horrible 20 years ago. You need to find out if someone used them lately, as I heard they got much better

Harris Hospital is Catskill Regional.
Orange Regional is Middletown Hospital, it's not far from KJ. Several if my friends gave birth there in the summer and they all had amazing experience.

South Fallsburg is 45 min from Monroe so an hour and 15 minutes to Good Sam. Hatzula could probably get you there faster, but you need to make a switch in Monroe at the Park and Ride. An hour and 15 minutes is not so bad IMO but it's your choice. Plus will you want prenatal care from a dr at a hospital you will deliver at?

A friend of mine delivered in orange reagional (unplanned). She is a high risk patient with a history of bleeding issues. She was very happy with the care, and bH didn't have any issues, because of how extremely careful they were.
