It’s a big freezer, not the kind that you have to defrost ever. Not sure what that’s called. Anyway I mistakenly left all my cakes unwrapped...will they be ok?

How long have they been in there?
If it's just overnight, there shouldn't be much, if any damage done. Just wrap them tightly and hope for the best.
If they've been there a week or more, I'm afraid they will have freezer burn, and be dry when you defrost them.

What are you planning to do with them?
I would defrost one and taste it to see what it tasted like. I wouldn't want to serve a cake to company (or really anyone) that was not very good
If it was no longer good quality - whether it was dry or had acquired an off taste, I would find recipes that incorporated cake but somewhat disguised the taste and texture. A trifle springs to mind as the obvious solution as they are delicious and no one would realize the cakes being used were not so good.
