I've bought many bikes online, as long as I know basic size. Measure against someone else's or Google the size for the height. Most seats are adjustable and handlebars are average. For most kids, this will suffice.

Here is a bike buying guide. You don’t have to buy from this site but will give you advice

I will say that putting together a bike was more complicated than I thought and messed up bikes that I bought and in general I am pretty handy.

Thank you! Oh boy didn't even realize I'd have to assemble it. Scratch that, then. Off the the (very expensive only local) store we go.

Depending on the price differential, you might be able to pay someone like $20 to assemble.
My son for example likes doing that kind of thing.

Walmart bikes many times come half way assembled and are not always that hard to finish up from my experience, I think it all depends on the model so don’t give up that quickly

My first grader has this one although if your kid is taller you can go for the 16 inch. She rode it last year already. Super easy to put together. I did it myself with no help from my husband and that doesn’t happen often. https://www.amazon.com/RoyalBa.....?th=1
