I bought my son a sneaker, but it has a white sole. School sent a notice that they don't allow that. I tried Sharpie oil based black marker, but it rubbed off in one day. Anyone tried something else that worked?

Black acrylic paint or paint marker.

Thanks so much. So I've tried both, they don't last more than a day. I might need to add a sealant of sorts after. For now, each night I use acrylic paint, it's a very soothing activity, thanks for the tip Wink

(And it looks much nicer than the markers)

I never did find anything - and made sure the next ones I bought had black soles. but if you're willing to do the pain thing, it could totally work. Think of it as polishing your kids shoes. would you want to do it nightly. NO. but is it the end of the world, also no.
I used one of those sponge tipped paint brushes so it was really quick.

Terrago all material color dye.

Doesnt last forever, but it lasts at least a week or two and the color is the same color as black leather, not the purple-y sharpie color.

we need to redye ever 1-2 weeks, just looks a little scuffed

It say to put the primer wait 12- 24 hours and then the balck and then wait 12 hourrs...

the first time we did it I didnt listen to directions TMI

and it came right off...
but then redid it properly, and also put the primer on again after the black.
If within the first week there are little spots that come off you can just dab a drop on.
