Fresh for Shabbos! On Monday I gave her the pot to clean… so today she saw it in the Crockpot again… so she dumped it. Shabbos is in a few hours.

Ya' gotta laugh, at least she cleaned out the pot.
Once I was making a brocolli kugel and asked my cleaning lady if she wanted the flower part because I was going to dump it otherwise, because I WAS NOT checking it. Since she said yes, I put all the flowers in a bag and put it on the side, then I started cutting the rest up to cook. I had to run out and get my kids. When I came back, I saw she took her flower part and threw out the rest that I had sitting on the cutting board with everything all washed. Of course I was upset, so my husband went out and got me more (they were really expensive). I thought the whole thing was so stupid of her, but she probably, or obviously, didn't understand, being I speak english and her spanish.

Look, my list of cleaning lady abuse is so long I could fill a library. But this touched a sore spot, being that cholent is my soul food. I wait for it all week! I make it fresh Thursday morning and Thursday night I put it in the fridge, Friday morning I put it back in the crock pot where it stays until Motzei Shabbos… Now, I had just put it into the crock pot this morning so it must’ve been semi-warmed up… so she dumped it! I’m not even thinking of bought cholent… I’m thinking of going under my blanket for a few days.

Consider yourselves lucky. A [gentile woman] threw out someone's dirty laundry with loads of expensive clothing in it!

Okay superwoman popped salami & potatoes into the oven. Hope we make good use of it. As a salvation, dh agreed to daven by the corner shul for a quickie minyan and promised me we can be in bed by 9pm. How comforting. Any other ideas? (chocolate in bed tomorrow morning won’t cut it)

Clothes are replaceable. Erev Shabbos Cholent is irresistibly irreplaceable. (my attachment is obviously immense)

How I like it:

Almost all white beans
Not thick and pasty
Not sweet
Very spicy
Heavenly Kishka
Small piece of Cheek Meat.
Scalding Hot from the Pot

Thanks.

Hannah, maybe he would like my lightweight version of chicken wings and rice? Tastes like the real thing but is so light on the stomach, and gluten free! What part of the cholent doesn’t he like?

P.S. you can come visit me, hugs can help. Just make sure you cover head with three layers of silk and go to the mikvah first.
