My son is in yeshiva in Eretz Yisrael, and he gave me his address on Rechov Machanayim in Yerushalayim. Does anyone know the zip code for that area so we can send him packages? Thank you.

You can search for the address on the israeli post website, and it will give you the zip code.

My friend in Israel told me (many years ago) to leave off the zip code as anything I sent her went from NY to California and then to Israel. If I left off the zipcode she got the packages faster.

Ha. I made that mistake once. The important thing is to put the postal code before the word ISRAEL, rather than after. And write ISRAEL very prominently. As an American I assumed the format of city, state ZIP was correct also internationally, but if mailing from the US internationally the country you're mailing to must come after the ZIP, otherwise it won't be sorted correctly.

I always wrote ISRAEL in large letters on the bottom of the address. Guess I should have written it after, not under.

A few years ago they added two more digits to Israeli zip codes. Make sure to include all seven digits, otherwise packages can get sent to the wrong place.
