I'm still in my lower 20s so never had this opportunity lol. Though I never would have said late/high teens

Low, mid, and upper. Late has connotations of death, as in the late Mrs. Ploni.

Interesting question. For age I say high or upper 20’s 30’s. For periods of time I say late. The late 1800’s. Later in the day, week, year. Covid started in late 2019...

Hmm, well since I'm only 21 (and have been for many years) I wouldn't say it about myself. I would say late 20s etc to describe others.

I believe that the correct terminology is early/mid/late. "High" or "low" always seem wrong to me.

I don't have time to look for sources, but I believe that early/late is standard English whereas low/high is not, and best left for temperature.

If I’m writing it down, late. If I’m saying it, high.

My great grandmother always said "mash the light", because in her day electricity was controlled by push buttons, not switches. She never did used to staying "switch on/off", long after everything was changed over to the more modern style.

Regarding the OP, I say "early, mid, upper" for age.
