Can I wear a cap sleeve? Dressy top for a simcha..

It’s a dressy top from 2 years ago. Fits me very well and I feel good in it. It has a cap sleeve though.. some beading around the edge... its only something I can wear to a wedding. Is it completely outdated and I’ll look funny wearing? I’m in my 40’s....( I know most people are wearing dresses but I look better in skirts and tops...)

Fashion-wise, I can't comment.

I find that most cap sleeves are too skimpy for me to feel sufficiently covered, but maybe that is a personal choice.

If you are okay with it and it makes you look good, that I say go for it. I think it is more important to wear something that makes you look good than to wear he latest trends.

If the top is sheer, and you're wearing a shell underneath, I don't think it'll look funny. You can post a pic or link a similar shirt to be sure.

If YOU look good and you FEEL good in it, wear it.

If you will go to the simcha and feel sad compared to wearing everyone else wearing trendy dresses, then:
a) don't wear it
b) work on your self-esteem/confidence to realize that you need to look good for yourself, because how will wearing a trendy dress help you if you don't look good in it and feel so self-conscious the whole night?!

(In case you couldn't tell...I would wear it!)

Also in my 40s and I totally wear what I like over what everyone else is wearing. Shirt and skirt for sure instead of a dress. I like color and delicate material over the burlap sack solid plain (ugly) dresses I see. Dresses make me look twice as wide.

Well.. tomorrow won’t be 80
I’ve been wearing my winter coat many mornings since pesach.. ok- not today

I know the rules- I just don’t like to follow them
