1. what types of options are available?
2. pros and cons?
3. do you have to move out for a few days?
4. approximate cost for medium size living room and dining room?
5. what do you do with all the furniture? Easy to move out couches, but what about seforim shranks?
6. how frequently do they need to be scraped/treated?
7. anything else I should know? Never done this before.

Thank you!

Either they scrape your floor and stain and polyurethane it. Sometimes they have to replace floor if the floor is too thin to scrape, with or without redoing the plywood underneath. An easier option is to put a prefinished floor down so that you don't have to smell the toxic polyurethane. If they do the oil based polyurethane it's worse than water base. I would move out for a few days if possible or do the prefinished floor and you can stay. They will try to remove most of the furniture to other rooms, and whatever is left, sometimes they can do half the floor and move the furniture around while working on the other part. Cost varies, depending on what you want to do and where you live.
