Wondering if people wash new clothing before wearing it. I think it's probably a good idea, and I usually do, but I just received a lot of things and I'm exhausted.

If it’ll touch anyone’s skin, for sure.
For everything else, I do too.

For the kids-yes
For me- Usually I'm too lazy plus I feel like stuff gets streched or faded the more often you wash it so why "waste'" a wash when it hasn't even been worn yet? (probably just an excuse for my laziness but...who knows)

Yes! I highly recommend you do.
I used to not always wash new clothes. But one time after I wore a new outfit I didn’t prewash beforehand I had a terrible allergic reaction to wherever the clothing touched my skin. I had to get medical help for my sudden allergic reaction.
Since that crazy experience I always prewash clothing. You have no idea what chemicals are being used in them these days.

Yes, yes, yes! A lot of items are made in China or other countries with less than ideal health and environment regulations. They are full of chemicals to preserve them and make them feel thick and smooth. I don't need carcinogenic substances all over my (or my children's) skin.

Whenever a new grandchild is born, we wash all of the stuff that the newborn will wear, especially if it's brand new. Otherwise we don't. I agree that dangerous chemicals are used to manufacture clothes.
