Hi my 3 yr old dd has many or all of the symptoms of pandas. I would like to get her tested for pandas. I know many doctors don’t believe in it. I use pediatric affiliates in Lakewood. Which dr or pa in the practice is most likely to be on board to get her tested and who is knowledgeable in this area? I would see shanik himself but I don’t know what his view on pandas is. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Dr Shanick doesn’t treat pandas.
Not sure if anyone in practice will…
Maybe ppl on here can advise a diff practice to try.

I use their Toms River office and Dr Verdy tested my son for it and then prescribed 2 courses of antibiotics.

Nope, move right on. I tried for over a year til they just threw me out of the practice. If you don't want to switch doctors, you can try going to P.A. Yossi Beren. He sees patients at home in the evening, think it's called After Hours Care. I think he is familiar with pandas.

There’s no real test for pandas. But yes you need to find a pandas literate pediatrician.
