We spend a lot of money on vitamins, minerals, supplements and I'm not happy about the expense. We try to buy kosher vitamins but some don't come with a hechsher. How much do you spend and how do you keep costs down?

Only those ‘prescribed’ by my doc prior to IVF. Those are really pricey. Otherwise none.

With the exception of vitamins D and B12, there is no scientific evidence that vitamins help you in the slightest. In fact, one study showed that people who took vitamins died younger.

I take vitamin D. Less than $20 a year.

Once I started working the dave ramsey plan I got rid of ALL of these type of expenses - it was "rice and beans" for me.

OP I don’t know anyone that spends big money on supplements because they want to. Everyone I know, myself included, do it because they have to. To get healthy or stay healthy.

You didn't add minerals as an option.
I take calcium in addition to vitamin D.
Pretty standard for women of a certain age.

Maybe you should tell my child's neurologist? Who just prescribed for him a regimen of vitamins (and minerals and herbs).

My son takes 3 Gluterase pills within 3 hours of eating wheat. He takes Ultraflamix Plus and Vitamin D daily. The Gluterase and UltraInflmix do not have a hechsher but our Rav checked the ingredients and okayed them.

We too use a supplement that doesn’t have a hechsher either but our doctor spoke with a rav who okayed it for people with certain symptoms.

Just to be clear, you’re talking strictly vitamins, or also minerals and other supplements?
