Think about the fact that they will be starting the new school year quite 'early' as well - Mid August!!

This when we always finish. We have 3 more weeks of summer school/camp before day camp. When do you usually end?

We usually have a total of 3.5 weeks off besides for the 8 weeks of camp. So sometimes it's 1 week in between school and camp plus 2.5 weeks after camp/before school. Other times it's split differently but it's generally 3.5 weeks without structured school/camp.

I'm happy they ended early because they are starting so early.

Its gonna be a brutal school year for the kids next year. They're back in school after the chagim at the end of September, and then there's no break until Pesach in mid April

Both the kids and teachers are probably gonna get so burned out

We have the same maybe its just distributed differently. School goes straight into what they call summer session which goes straight to day camp. We have 2 1/2 weeks off at the end.

I think girls have half a week at the beginning.

I'm a teacher. I have never ended a year as exhausted and burnt out as this year. It's been a crazy year. For all of us, kids, too. We all need the break now.

If that were me, I would make my own winter break that is totally insane. I am in a RW school in my area but we have a week of midwinter in January. The kids need it badly.

Because trying to teach on zoom and live at the same time, with kids coming in and out of quarantine was insane. There were never enough substitutes to cover all the teachers who were out for quarantine. Plus trying to follow all the COVID rules was really hard. Teaching in a mask was difficult and social distancing made it necessary to change a lot of how we did things. We were constantly redoing lessons to fit the guidelines. Most years we can teach from some of the lesson plans from previous years but this year everything had to be redone.

BTW, I live OOT

kol hakovod to all the teachers who made it work for the past 1.5 years through the craziness!!! you deserve a break!!

usually I think schools end around the 21st and this year more like 16th... maybe an extra week...but starting end of august rather than early sept.
I noticed the boys camps are starting and ending earlier due to this... so hopefully no one will be too bored!!!
