Any ideas where I can go for a vacation not too far (like New Hampshire 6 hr drive..) and not too pricy either

Another amother here....
Also looking for a place to go on route from Brooklyn to lakewood for just a couple of days.
But also wanted to stay at a place where food will be locally accessible. I’m from Canada & will be coming into New York next week.
Would consider staying in the city, but didn’t know what it’s like these days. How’s Manhattan? Has it recovered from last years vandalism?
