Funny thing both my sisters who needed prerequisite hours of observing etc. for their college degrees did it in our school with Mrs. Margolis signing off on the hours.

The satmar rebbe should first take care of the internet in his family ( his einikel the grand designer rbg design all day on social media) then he can come to us

These two comments further prove the point that girls these days are exposed to things that we werent exposed to in my days so its important to update the curriculum and allow the girls to graduate with an accredited high school diploma. And learn Chumash and Rashi just like most, if not all of the other chasidishe schools.

But happy to hear that Mrs Margolious actually did something nice for someone as I think of her as evil who has no business being around children (and knowing that her father in law allowed little boys to be abused and protected the abuser makes it even more horrifying that she managed to work at satmar for so long).

Sienna, I'm really not a fan of Mindy Margolies. However, she is definitely not responsible for her father in law

I know she is not responsible for her father in law but evil runs in the family (and yes, she is evil but dont want to go into it further so not to out myself) and its shocking how protected they are by the community. Hashem will take care of it after 120 and make sure they pay the price for all the pain and suffering they caused.

Which teacher/s did you enjoy most?

I loved Sury Halberstam, she’s brilliant.
We had a blast by Rebetzin spiegel.
Udy Friedman was fun!

If I have to choose a favorite I would def say Mrs Honig who became the principal later on. I believe Reb Spiegel is her sister.

While Satmar will never allow regents/accredited high school diploma, the school can still teach the curriculum so that if need be, students are not at such a loss later in life.

I taught in satmar and when I needed more income than the wages Satmar pays its teachers, I was left with very few options: get my degree, teach elsewhere or go work in an office in a clerical type of position.

Getting a degree wasn't an option, teaching elsewhere was not possible since I didn't know chumash/rashi well enough, leaving office work....Not exactly a high paying option either....

This is a problem with no answer really, unless you send to different school....

Graduated 2001, hiiii grademates/classmates

I remember pre school being in the 49thstr building, 1-4 was in 53rd str building and 5-8 plus high school on 14th ave. Then everyone moved into the building on 14.
My boys are in the cheder/yeshiva
My girls not. Suffice it to say that I was very disappointed in the lack of discipline shown to the machers of a certain class who were bullying my daughter and therefore decided to switch.

I can list most teachers up until high school, then it's a blur. Too many names to remember
First grade: Mrs Pollak Yiddish and Miss Aurbach/Muller English
Second grade: מרת פריינד who was always late every single day and Mrs Kramer English.
Third grade: Mrs Eiger Yiddish and Miss Schwimmer English (don't remember who she married)
Fourth grade: Miss Teitelbaum (don't remember who she married) and Mrs Eichenstein English
Fifth grade: Miss Leifer (forgot who she married) Miss Luger/Friedman English
Sixth grade: forgot Yiddish, miss goldman/knoblich
Seventh grade: Ruchme Halberstam/ Miss Schick/Lipshitz
Eighth grade: Yiddish I forgot but she had red hair and English we finally had deparmental: Mrs Knoblich, miss friedman/Jaffe (Mrs. Margolis' neice) and Mrs Raab

Never liked school, had no friends and to this day I can't figure out why. Guess I wasn't a macher or had machers for parents. To prove my point I was a nobody: when I went to Mrs Meisels at PTA to see what can be done about the bullying situation, she herself asked me if I was a student of the school. Ummmm, yesss, and when I started naming the girls from my class and grade she still didn't remember me.

Hi classmate, and Camellia too! This is too funny! I wonder who you are...
Btw I think the 4th grade Teitelbaum teacher was Ratzi's sister right?

I'm sorry for your daughter's experience...
I also didn't find my place in school until high school and even then...

We were basically classmates through all the years, interesting!

Satmar is basically taking a bunch of smart, healthy girls and handicapping them for life Crying
Sure a few outliers will get their degrees and do well in life but why not give the girls the opportunity to do something with their lives instead of making them work harder for it later on?

And what did you teach, which grade and what year(s)?

I disagree. The Satmar lifestyle and hashkafa don't work for you and your family and you chose not to send your kids there which is all good. It's not necessarily crippling all their students for life- majority students are happy and comfortable with their way.

Did they tell that to you? Have you done a survey asking if they would have wanted more in life if given the option? And would they have been honest with you about it if they would have responded to the survey?
I think many people just get stuck in the system with no way out so they make do with what they have but if given a choice then things would be different for them.
But really, why the resistance to change when it comes to an accredited high school diploma or learning chumash/rashi when satmar people are openly using internet and doing other things that go against the Satmar hashkafa?

Comparing the internet to Chumash Rashi is comparing apples and oranges. The Rebbe firmly believed in that as a fundamental idea, while internet is a technological development and we don't know how he would have dealt with the issue. I'm not saying I don't agree with you on some points- I personally love learning and was bored in Yiddish class wished we would have learned deeper... But I was never resentful toward my parents for sending me to Satmar school this is where we belong- I knew that after high school if I wanted to I can go for higher education, I did look into it briefly right after, but I'm happy with the decision I made to just go to work. My point is anyone can do what you did if they choose to- for starters they are where they belong and that is amazing in my opinion.
