My husband is israeli and so any name with a reish in it, shira, Leora, it bothers him the way I say the names. I have an Eliana Tehila, and Adina sara. I need a girl name, that has a nice meaning, with no ch in the name. Any ideas? Emuna,- I thought might be weird- hadassa-it’s a big name- and if we live in israel I don’t want hadas. I like very feminine names that there is no confusion that it’s a girl name. I don’t like noa- because it can be confused as a boy name to nonjews. Also, baby had issues in utero and I was concerned she might not be born healthy. Feeling sooo grateful and happy that she is healthy! And adorable!!

op, my hubby is also israeli and any name I picked he said was "too american" or "too ashkenaz"
we chose Chana and call her Chani.
It means grace, hashem has favored us, I was so grateful to have a baby after many years of being in shidduchim bh.
"Some names Israelis say them weird. Even Talia- they accent the talYA which I do not like.
Beshaa tova. Israelis don't pronounce the names weirdly, they pronounce them correctly.

You are right! It’s correct pronunciation, I just prefer it the other way.
