He might have chosen his yeshiva. But it would be worth it to reevaluate. Is he living at home or in a dorm? My son did a lot better going away to yeshiva. He says that he hates being told what to do at home but in yeshiva he listens. He is in a yeshiva that is an an alternative place. Yes I was scared sending since it had a bad name. But he says that the kids in regular yeshivas did the same things. But in his yeshiva its more unlikely since there is strict standards in some things. And that the kids who are there are trying to get clean etc and change their ways for the better. He had told me that he was tired of learning so much gemara now he learns a lot of other subjects too and he is proud of building something in yeshiva.
