I have a convection oven mounted under cabinets. It’s broken. I also have a regular convection oven. Can I mount it under the cabinet or are they made differently?

Theoretically yes but you would have to make sure the specifications for the specific oven work for the space since there are clearances necessary and these differ for different oven. However many people have an oven mounted under the counter because they don’t have space for a wall oven. Generally it is done because people think it looks more upscale than a stove but I think a stove is more functional.

Convection versus non convection doesn’t matter as almost all ovens are convection although some stoves don’t have convection ovens. FWIW, there is a difference between true convection ovens and ovens that only blow air around to improve heat circulation.

ETA - I assumed OP wanted to mount a wall oven under the counter so that is what my response was based on. The kind of microwave/convection oven that is over the range is also intended to provide exhaust venting which is required by Code in most jurisdictions. It is generally not the greatest set up because even though theoretically "safe" to be used over the stove, it still has issues from being subjected to the heat. It also doesn't vent air as well as a dedicated hood and it is too high for optimum safety when unloading hot dishes from the microwave.

I hope you don't mean replacing an over-the-range microwave convection oven with a countertop oven that wasn't made to vent or withstand heat from the cooktop — which would be dangerous.

Please clarify.

Yes thank you. That’s what I wanted to know. I had a feeling that it wasn’t. Oh well.
