Are there any apps that can calculate how much maaser you owe? Are there books that can help you figure out maaser?

Yes. I'll tell it to you in one sentence.
Take whatever number you have and move the decimal over by one.
So if you make $875 for a job, you give 87.50 to Maaser.
And if you make 8,675 dollars, you give 867.50 to Maaser.
If you make 10,867, you will give 1,086.70 for maaser.

Easiest way to keep track is to open a separate checking account and automatically have 10% of your pay check deposited there or move 10% as the $$ comes in

We deduct working expenses- babysitting, commute costs.
Ask your LOR about how tuition counts.

Depends how you keep your books.
We don’t use net bec 401k And hsa money and insurance taken off account we pay ma’aser kn that money.
We start with total salary. Take off all taxes. Take off all business expenses - depending on job we were told can include gas or car expenses if necessary.
If you have your own business it really can be complicated.
Personally we don’t count tuition toward ma’aser

So what’s if you receive help to pay for therapy or expenses. Do you have to take masser from that money or receiving tzeddaka isn’t included in needing to give masser ?

If it helps we have a separate account for masser and then every time I make a deposit in my regular account 10% automatically goes into the masser account. Its called auto save we set it up with chase

Question for rav about gifts.
I believe if earmarked for a purpose no ma’aser (like tells you please use this money to buy a book). If just cash to use as you wish then yes ma’aser.
Tzedakah I don’t know.

We also have a separate account.
We actually have multiple accounts - DH's business account, our personal checking/savings accounts, and a maaser account.
When I take money out of Dh's business account and transfer it to our personal account, I also take 10% of that amount and put it into the maaser account.
Ex: I transferred 1000 to my personal account to pay for groceries or personal items. Then I also transfer 100 to my maaser account, and when there's a lot accumulated, I write a check to a tzedaka from that account.

Bumping this up. Anyone has an app that they use to calculate maaser easily? Excel sheet and donor fund won't work for me.
Thanks!

Following.
I give a lot in services (free or reduced to those in klei kodesh or in need), and it's hard to keep track. And taxes take a huge bite.

Although this has an English slant I think there are loads of sources for all different scenarios

I'm so sure the authors will have a spreadsheet. If it's not linked in the book you could ask them!
