I'm not sure if you specifically don't want to give in a hospital but you can go to the Maimonides blood donor center and write 481-Bikur Cholim on the form they give you to fill out and it will go to Bikur Cholim.

Why frum? Pretty sure all blood goes through the Red Cross.

Maimonides has plenty of kosher food for you after you donate (a lot better than Red Cross) And if you tell them to give it to Bikur Cholim you can also eat lunch or whatever you want after donating blood at the Bikur Cholim room for free (I'm not sure if the Bikur Cholim is still open with Covid)

Because I don't want to go into an actual hospital so I wonder if there is some frum donation center outside of an actual hospital. I haven't seen drive ads lately. Many times those are not in a hospital, they set up in yeshivas or shuls.

Call up Bikur Cholim 718-438-2020 or email them info@bicco.org and ask them when their next blood drive will be. They are about every other week or so and usually take place in shul buildings . Never in the hospital

Not quite what OP is asking but you can actually donate to a specific person if you are a compatible blood type and they are having elective surgery in which a transfusion might be required.

My friend donated a pint for me when I was scheduled for surgery since we were compatible blood types. The hospital has it on call if it is needed.

If it isn't needed it goes into the general blood bank so it isn't wasted.

Bumping this up.

Anyone know about blood donation currently? As in, since COVID?

I'd love to get back into donating blood regularly or trying out donating platelets but not getting decent info online.

Brooklyn or nearby, not deep into the city.

Call any organization dealing with cancer and see if they have a patient with your blood type needing blood

Call the bikur cholim, I think in Maimonides. There is definitely a critical shortage of blood.

new york blood center can call you when there is a local drive. they are having one at kingway soon. but it isn't through a bikur cholim.
you can call bikur cholim of bp to see when they have a drive. I know they had one about two months ago in flatbush.
