I buy a lot of fresh produce and Costco has great produce at very good prices.
It is well worth the cost of membership even for a relatively small family in my opinion. Also many people split a membership with someone else because you are give two cards so you don't have to go with the other person.

Costco has amazing and delicious produce but it’s not necessarily cheaper or even the same price. Their produce is generally not cheap but you get good quality.
OP, how about trying Aldi’s?

My experience is that Costco produce is significantly cheaper than produce at other stores.
Of course I have no interest in buying poor quality produce as it winds up being thrown out since it doesn't taste as good and nobody eats it. 🤷🏼♀️
Any fruit or tomatoes - high quality is a must. Stuff like zucchini which will be cooked with strong flavoring not as critical. Even stuff like string beans often suffers as I find that there are often dark brown spots when I prep.
I don't know if it is helpful in Brooklyn but in Los Angeles the fresh produce at some of the Asian markets like 99 Ranch is phenomenal and very cheap. I make it a point to go there in June during fresh lychee season because they sell for $1.99 per pound versus $10 per pound at Pavillions - if Pavillions even has it.
They also have live fish swimming in tanks.
