Asking for a friend.
Her 14 yr old daughter is struggling with mental issues and hasn't been in school in a few months. Does anyone know of a support group/therapist/organization that can help the parents?

She isn't struggling with frumkeit bh but they don't want it to get there. The parents need guidance on how to deal with their daughters anxieties and what battles to choose and what they should let go on. They are very open to any ideas.

Any tips appreciated.

If she's struggling with mental health, the most important thing is to see a qualified psychiatrist and get her on the right meds so that she is stable. A good therapist to guide her along the way is also helpful, but if medication is needed, therapy won't help without it.

Relief is the organization that provides referals in the tristate area.

She has a full team of doctors, therapists, physiatrists, and social workers. And they are in touch with relief.
The mother just needs someone she can talk to for support and guidance.

She doesn't have any support IRL? None of the doctors can help her find a support group for parents?

Most hospitals have parenting classes that are specific to dealing with your child's illness or mental health challenges.

When DD was going through severe anxiety and some OCD behaviors, Seattle Children's Hospital had amazing classes for both kids and parents. It helped so much to know that we weren't alone, and that we were as lost as all the other parents. DD was helped by knowing that she wasn't the only one who had the same fears and intrusive thoughts.
