Help! Gave DS double the amount by accident!
I gave him 10 ML when he was told to take 5.

He's 60 pounds.

Is this dangerous? Should I call someone

You could call poison control to calm your nerves. But I believe it will be fine. I would call just to calm myself.

It's almost certainly not dangerous at that dose. Call the doctor, or at least the pharmacist. You can even call your local poison control hotline for reassurance.

Nothing's going to happen to him. It's only double the dose, given once.

Not a concern at all. Don't worry. Just continue moving forward at the appropriate dose.

Calm down, it's just 1 double dose of antibiotics, nothing to be concerned about.

Anytime you are worried about poison, give the child lots of water to drink to dilute and flush out.

And call poison control.

My best friend’s son once downed an entire bottle of azithromycin (aka bubblegum medicine). Poison control told her that children’s antibiotics (or all antibiotics and other meds in the same classification) are dosed in such a way that if someone takes the entire thing in one shot, they will get stomach upset but not much worse than that.

This. I've called them numerous times. Very helpful.
Once my 12 mo non walking newborn managed to get onto the dresser, open the child safe mortin bottle and drank half of it.... another time my son took his sister's abx she is more than double his weight, while I turned my back for a sec... another time a kid overdosed on vitamin gummies (it seems like I'm the only one struggling in this household to open child safe bottles.... 🙄 )
We've since put in extra precautions but stuff still happens. That's why we don't use or own any sharp chemicals. The worst we own is regular laundry detergent. ( and yes they got into that too one early early morning. Now it's crib tents to keep the trouble maker toddlers safe )

I hope they don't log my calls. Lol.
