Yellow chicken?

I was in Bingo yesterday and the only chicken cutlets they had were yellow color and a sign said try these very tender from free roaming chickens...anyone know about it?

They are corn fed. Considered gourmet and more expensive but sometimes the only kind available these days.

Kosher west’s chicken were also yellow. Idk what it is. Doesn’t tempt me.

I always consider corn fed to be tastier but it hasn’t been available where I live in years.

In Israel the Pesach chickens are always yellowish. From around the beginning of Adar they are fed corn, to ensure there is no risk of chametz getting into the process system. It could be that kosher chicken producers in America are also doing this.

In kosher west everyone was complaining to the butcher about the color.
He said that is all he can get right now.

With the chicken shortage the companies are having a hard time finding chickens. One company lost its supplier and all are scrounging around for more chickens. If these truly are free range, that's a real plus. They are usually triple the price of regular chicken. Color has to do with feed. A lot of the pastured chickens I've seen have skin that's a beautiful golden color.

When I went, they had a sign that they are free range, juicy and tender. A neighbor told me they taste fine. I only got one package, cuz wasnt sure..
