As long as the ppl eating it have fish and cheese together, the two can be paired

Anyone that doesn't is ignorant. It's milk only not milk products.

I've definitely heard there are Sefardim who don't bagels with cream cheese and lox. Ignorance seems like an irrelevant factor when it's common practice, unless and until you can change common practice.

Nope. Not ignorant. We are sefardi. We don't do this.

This kind of comment and name calling is never ok. I am leaving it here (not editing) for the replies, which have corrected you.

Thanks all I thought so but just want to be sure...
Many people don't eat cheese and fish together my parents are yeshivish and don't though my husband family do so that's ok.
It's actually no recipe, I want to take a wrap and put it over a small bowl in the oven that will be the bowl for the salad I was thinking of lettuce, red cabbage, avocado, cherry tomatoes and maybe cucumbers. I have mozzarella balls I think im going to fry them does that make sense? What dressing would be good for such a salad a regular thousand island?

Sounds terrific! Please serve dressing on the side if you're having guests; not everyone appreciates, or should have, dressing.

Literally never heard of this no fish and milk thing together. Every dairy cafe has a tuna melt . Tuna casseroles are also popular. BY education, ffb

I'm a BT who knows some Sefardim. Learned some fun things from other students in college, like how they couldn't make hamotzei on Ashki challah because it was cake as far as they were concerned. Smile

Well guess what there are all kinds of people in this world.
Live and learn, there are Sefardim some chasidim and some yeshivish don't eat dairy and fish together.

Why is anything that (collective) you don't do weird or wrong.

What is ashkenaz challah and what is sefardi challah? The typical challah can be many thing. I can't believe anyone calls water challah cake.

It has to do with the ingredients that were at hand in the countries where they lived. As with everything, the Ashkenazi version is sweeter. It also has eggs.

Yes, of course, today Ashkenazim sometimes serve water challah. I still make the distinction between Ashkenazi and Sefardi foods even though there is mingling.
