For a 1 or 2 year old, still wearing diapers...would you say that shorts/leggings/tights are necessary under skirts?
not halachically, just appropriateness

There's nothing inappropriate about seeing a diaper, but aesthetically it's not the best look.

I use bloomers or diaper covers. Just prettier than pampers...

I just bought shorts for under toddler dresses. I like them for many reasons...seems more modest, extra protection between diaper/possible diaper messes and clothing/her environment, sometimes she sits down in nature and things get stuck to the diaper.

I like to keep that age in Not dresses, or dresses that have attached shorts type of thing, but either way I keep my kids in onsies till they’re out of diapers to avoid this and other issues (access for hands into diapers for example)....

I always covered the diaper with shorts or diaper covers. I hate when diapers are exposed.

Right, that's the reason I forgot. There have been occasions when my older toddler's diaper seemed to fall and/or she helped it along.

I think it just looks tacky when a diaper is showing. I dress my child in a nice cute dress and I don’t want some tacky disposable plastic/paper/ (whatever material diapers are made front) diaper showing. I used diaper covers at that age. I only really put her in dresses for Shabbat and wanted something a bit fancier than shorts.
