my oldest DS learned at 5. A training wheel broke and DH decided to not buy new training wheels, just teach the kid to ride. He learned pretty fast. Maybe in 2 or 3 days.
Second DS also wanted to learn at age 5, mostly to keep up with his older brother (he is 15 mons younger, but wanted to learn to ride also at age 5 to be as cool as big brother)

We taught DS when he turned 6. DD is 5 but has low muscle tone & still has a problem this year with the bike we bought her last year.

One ds learnt at 5-6 by his father. My dd learnt 7-8 by my sister. My 5 yr old would love to learn, but winter is coming and it's a little too chilly.
